Our Why

For most of us, our fitness journey starts to be smaller. We are constantly told we need to take up less space, and shrink ourselves to fit into this mold of what society tells us is “healthy.” 

We believe that health is so much more than this. Fitness can empower you with confidence, provide an outlet for a stressful day, introduce you to new ways to connect with yourself, and build lifelong friendships. Fitness should add to your life–not take away from it–and remind you how strong and capable you are!

Meet the Founder

During the pandemic, I found myself in the depths of my depression. For me, exercise has always been a safe space. It’s helped me get out of my head and feel more connected with myself. After talking with people who are struggling, I decided that I could share my vision of fitness through an online program to help people feel connected and calm during a time that was anything but.

As businesses began to open again, I saw that so many people were craving connection and community. So I decided to bring Movement & Mindset in person, starting with 1:1 sessions.

I was seeing how our philosophy of training for a bigger purpose than just your outside appearance had such an impact on the people I was working with. It was everything they knew about Fitness was just scratching the surface, and they had finally found a routine that they genuinely look forward to each week.

I knew that I wanted to continue to grow Movement & Mindset to create a community of people who not just prioritize their health, but also supported each other in that journey. This is when we introduced Small Group training and our group classes. So we could bring all of these important pillars together. 

In 2024, we moved into our first pop-up studio, where we are excited to continue to share our message with the NYC community and beyond!
